Walk the Moon

The last time BRU hung out with Walk the Moon was during Shut Up and Dodge. Watch DJ Sam reunite with the guys with a round of 5 in 95! After an awesome set in front of a MASSIVE crowd, the band was found backstage watching footage and reliving the moment. The goofy dudes and hard workers know how to laugh at themselves and make each performance even better than the last.  

Alabama Shakes

Side-stage once more, we got to see everything during Alabama Shakes. Some mic issues caused a song to be interrupted, but lead singer Brittany Howard brought the crowd back to life by ditching it altogether and launching into “Don’t Wanna Fight.” Here’s a clip from their kickass set!

Special Guest: Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction at the Kids’ Stage?

Pro tip: Whenever a festival lineup says “Special Guest” you better be there. We decided to check out Kidzapalooza on the way to another stage. We went for the cute novelty of the kid-sized section and stayed for the surprising music booming from the kid-sized stage. Only half paying attention, we heard, “Sometimes I like to go to the beach. And I also like to go to the mountains! This song is called Mountain Song.” Who was this band and why were they doing a cover? Just as confused as the toddlers on the grass, we moved in closer to get a better look. Nope, not a cover band. It was Perry Farrell, aka the lead singer of Jane’s Addiction and the founder of Lollapalooza. Also Metallica’s Rob Trujillo on bass. Too caught up in the moment, we neglected to document the awesomely bizarre occurrence. But believe us, it happened!

Toro Y Moi

Didn’t get to see much of the Exposure artist’s set between being caught up in the Kidzapalooza section and rushing to the other side of the festival for Walk the Moon and Tame Impala. But we did get a couple songs side-stage! Highlights of the set included funky bass lines, chill grooves, and shade away from the hot sun.
 

Tame Impala

The Australian psychedelic rock band demands the in-crowd experience. We ditched backstage for the pit and were rewarded with super cool trippy visuals and swells of their time-warping sound surrounding us.
