1. METRIC – Now or Never Now
Metric are back! And they are sounding better than ever. “Now or Never” features starry synth-pop vibes and dreamy vocals that are perfect for a nighttime drive with the windows down. Nothing like watching the city lights pass by while Metric reminds you of your fleeting youth: “It’s now or never!” 2. ADRIANNE LENKER – symbol The ever-flowing guitar and beautiful, chant-like vocals of “symbol” can’t help but put you into a meditative trance. The feeling is similar to that of waking up to the patter of rain on your window in the early morning, or watching a cool breeze blow through a grassy field. Play this song and allow Adrianne Lenker to whisk you away from reality into a peaceful realm. 3. CLOUD NOTHINGS – Leave Him Now Cloud Nothings deliver some good rock and roll on “Leave Him Now.” The vocals are raw and pure, the drums are thrashing, the guitar is wailing; what more could you ask for? This song is a real headbanger. 4. BRISTON MARONEY – I’ve Been Waiting Briston Maroney first appeared on the scene at the age of 15 on season 13 of American Idol. After making it all the way to the final 30, he continued on the musical path, and we sure are glad he did. His newest single, “I’ve Been Waiting” is an upbeat and optimistic indie rock track that makes you want to get up and dance. Honestly, we have been waiting for this song. 5. ZOO ANIMAL – Filthy Doubter A little grungy, a little moody, “Filthy Doubter” has some serious edge to it. Out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Zoo Animal draws us in with the dark and soulful voice of lead singer Holly Hansen. Definitely recommend this song for when you are chilling with your friends and feeling a bit angsty. 6. WINNETKA BOWLING LEAGUE – On the 5 You can’t help but feel the sunshine on this indie pop track. Winnetka Bowling League provide light and airy vocals with an upbeat instrumental backing, making it the perfect summer day song. After listening to “On the 5,” you’ll want to “go back to that summer in San Fran” and ride around with the windows down. 7. LUNAR VACATION – Daytime Don’t be alarmed by the out-of-this-world radio ad that opens up “Daytime”; stay tuned to hear some jazzy beats and awesome synth sounds. Lunar Vacation stays true to their name with this one; listening to “Daytime” is almost the same as spending a beach day in outer space, gazing at the Milky Way while star-tanning.
