If you weren’t able to make it to either of our two Rock Hunt Weekend I Semifinals, don’t worry: you can catch live sessions by our first two finalists, Oliver Penn & the Crystal Shivers and Le Roxy Pro here! Oliver Penn & the Crystal Shivers are a Providence rock band infused with blues and soul. The five members met at Providence College and, just a few months after forming, are already incredibly put together. Their session features three songs, lots of horns, 4 out of the 5, members, and some incredible double instrument playing by frontman Oliver Penn. Le Roxy Pro is a longtime BRU favorite–you may have seen one of their past Home BRU’d sessions or their Summer Concert Series show last summer. Frontman Brent Battey is a Rock Hunt vet: his previous band the Wandas won a few years ago. In the session, Brent brings his trademark “sick jams” to the station for an all-acoustic, intimate live performance.
