With the popularity of his covers of Arctic Monkeys’ “Do I Wanna Know” and Ariana Grande’s “Problem,” Hozier is no stranger to taking on the challenge of applying his signature sound to chart-topping singles from different genres. On Tuesday the Live Lounge released Hozier’s cover of Sam Smith’s heartfelt love song “Lay May Down.” Hozier completely transformed the track using an upbeat, Motown-influenced arrangement.
