The Wrap-Up brings you the 5 largest music news stories of the week as well as information about new album and music video releases.
Last week Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg at a Gothenburg, Sweden show when he fell off of stage. In true rockstar fashion, Grohl kept performing after the fall and even received medical attention while he was performing. Unfortunately, on Wednesday Grohl wrote a letter to fans (complete with x-rays of his leg) that announced that the Foo Fighters would have to cancel shows. These cancellations include the band’s headlining spot at Glastonbury Festival. However, Florence + the Machine (whose frontwoman Florence Welch suffered a broken foot during a show in April) will take their headlining spot.
Bleachers released Thank You and Sorry, a six-episode web series that was shot entirely in black-and-white. Each episode lasts about 15 minutes and the series chronicles the band’s life on tour using both documentary and scripted material. Jack Antonoff stated, “There’s this weird line of what is real and what isn’t real. That line got blurrier and blurrier, even as we were making it.” Antonoff revealed that the web series was a result of his love for music documentaries and that he “plan[s] on doing this a lot more, because [he] actually think[s] it’s a really interesting idea.” You can check out the series for free here.
Since it first opened its doors as a live music venue in the 1980s, T.T. the Bear’s Place in Cambridge, Massachusetts has been a tour stop for several well-known bands, including the Black Keys, Passion Pit, Arcade Fire, Franz Ferdinand, Jane’s Addiction, and Pixies. Since the venue is schedule to close in July and the band wanted to “help bid adieu” to it, Pixies played at T.T. the Bear’s Place Thursday night and it was their first show at the venue since 1987. The venue’s calendar originally hid the show by calling it a “private party,” but Pixies’ website announced the gig Thursday morning.

On Tuesday Robert DeLong released the music video for “Don’t Wait Up,” the first single from his upcoming second album In the Cards, which will be released on September 18.
