1. Coldplay provide studio update and officially announce new album title

Coldplay created an online timeline to chronicle the band’s almost twenty-year journey and the latest update to the timeline officially revealed that the band’s upcoming album will be called A Head Full of Dreams. The band also released a note discussing their progress on the album and you can read it below.  

2. Of Monsters & Men release video for “Crystals”

Last Saturday, Of Monsters & Men played an amazing sold-out show at Lupo’s and just 2 days later, the released the music video for their single “Crystals.” If you still want more Of Monsters & Men after checking out the video, head over to our Facebook page and check out our photos from the show!  

3. Death Cab for Cutie perform “The Ghosts of Beverly Drive” on The Tonight Show

Death Cab for Cutie dropped by The Tonight Show on Monday to perform Kintsugi track “The Ghosts of Beverly Drive.” The band is currently on tour and will play at Boston’s Blue Hills Bank Pavilion on September 11.  

4. Metric release new music for for the first time in 3 years

On Monday, Metric released “The Shade,” their first new song in 3 years. The high-energy track won Monday’s round of Smash or Trash and features a catchy chorus of “I want it all.”  

5. The Foo Fighters played a surprise set with Chevy Metal

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and guitarist Chris Shiflet joined drummer Taylor Hawkins’ cover band Chevy Metal at the Conejo Valley Days Carnival in California. Their appearance was unannounced and lucky crowd members were treated to a ton of classic rock covers, including David Bowie and Queen’s “Under Pressure” (shown above), AC/DC’s “Let There Be Rock,” the Rolling Stones’ “Miss You,” Van Halen’s “Panama,” Bryan Adams’ “Summer of ’69,” and the Knack’s “My Sharona.”
