Home BRU'd Sessions: Arc Iris

Arc Iris dropped by the station for a Home BRU’d session Monday, April 6th. They came well prepared for the occasion, decked out in silver outfits that glimmered in the studio, and sporting nifty, gold microphones from Telefunken. Jocie (who was originally a member of The Low Anthem before starting Arc Iris as solo project that bloomed into this amazing band), lead vocals, and Robin, on the cello, even donned jewels on their foreheads—giving us all a glimpse of their supernatural abilities. The band blew everyone in the studio away with their cover of David Bowie’s “The Bewlay Brothers,” especially when Zach, rocking on the keyboard, busted out his extraterrestrial manipulated vocals. That was just a taste of what these guys have to offer. They’ll be performing the Bowie album Hunky Dory in its entirety with other local artists on Friday, April 17th at the Zoetical Festival (which they are also hosting, every Friday this lovely month of April) at Aurora—it is bound to be a curiously fantastic performance that you don’t want to miss. Arc Iris has been blowing up and gaining a lot of traction recently playing festivals as notable as Bonnaroo (which they talk about in their interview with DJ Austin). Keep any eye out, because they are definitely a Providence band you want to be able to say you knew first.
