In some ways, Less Than A Felony is just what you’d expect from an (two-thirds) Irish band. They are fun, loud, and extremely friendly. However, in other ways, the band is far from the “Irish Rock Band” norm. Though there are obvious similarities to the likes of Flogging Molly and the Dropkick Murphys, Less Than A Felony has a sound that is entirely their own. They combine traditional rock with punk, and have even done some reggae in the past.
By the end of the session the studio was filled with empty Gansetts and broken drumsticks—a solid indicator of the excellent music and fun times we had in the hour-long session (though they didn’t accept the beer until the nerves kicked in when they learned that they had to do an interview first).
The band has recently released a four-track demo, and though there are currently no upcoming shows to report, they plan on releasing an album mid-March, so keep a look out!
