Jack Antonoff (of Bleachers) is collaborating with Grimes again Jack Antonoff, the man behind Bleachers and the bassist of fun., revealed in an interview with the Daily Beast that he was working with Exposure artist Grimes again. The two previously worked together on the Bleachers’ track “Take Me Away,” which is featured above. Antonoff mentioned their collaboration as he elaborated on his experiences writing songs with other artists:I’ve done these sessions where they throw a bunch of writers together and have a reference for what they want to do, and it’s factory-farming bullshit. But anytime I work with Taylor, or Tegan and Sara, or Sara Bareilles, or anyone I’m working with right now I was with Grimes yesterday, who I love it’s just the two of us in a room having a really good time. Or a really emotional time. We’re throwing around ideas and sounds so that the result is 1 + 1 = more than 2. That’s why it’s really cool to collaborate.Watch our interview with Jack Antonoff at Boston Calling HERE and check out Bleachers’ exclusive performances and interview at the WBRU studio HERE. 5. Lorde explained her dig at Diplo Last week, Lorde and Diplo got involved in some Twitter drama regarding Lorde’s close friend Taylor Swift. In an interview with The Fader, she addressed her rationale for confronting Diplo (whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz and is referred to as Wes below):
So… Diplo insulted Taylor [Swift]’s butt on Twitter, and you called out his dick-size. Major Lazer is on the soundtrack, so it wasn’t like you were taking shots at a stranger. Were you surprised the way people got worked up about it? I mean, I think often I say things and realize that Americans hear what I say differently to how I hear it. I love Wes and he’s a big brother to me and one of my first friends in the industry, and part of having a friendship with someone like that is not letting them say stupid shit. Taylor’s my friend as well, and I’m a girl, and if I see some weird body-shaming on my feed I’m going to be like, “Hey man…” We do still love each other, hopefully.6.
