The Wrap-Up brings you the 10 largest music news stories of the week as well as information about new album and music video releases.
On Tuesday, the Foo Fighters announced a 28-city North American tour that will start with the band’s Fourth of July show, which was announced a couple weeks ago. The tour includes stops at Boston’s legendary Fenway Park on July 18 and July 19. Tickets to the band’s Fenway shows will go on sale to the general public at 10 on Friday, December 5 HERE. 4. Jack Antonoff (of Bleachers) is collaborating with Grimes again
Jack Antonoff, the man behind Bleachers and the bassist of fun., revealed in an interview with the Daily Beast that he was working with Exposure artist Grimes again. The two previously worked together on the Bleachers’ track “Take Me Away,” which is featured above. Antonoff mentioned their collaboration as he elaborated on his experiences writing songs with other artists:

In an interview with The Fader, she addressed her rationale for confronting Diplo (whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz and is referred to as Wes below):

8. CHVRCHES released a reworked version of “The Mother We Share”
On Wednesday, CHVRCHES‘ performance at the Moog Sound Lab in Asheville, North Carolina was released. The Moog Sound Lab lets artists “explore analog sound-scaping, synthesis and effects.” The result of CHVRCHES’ visit to the lab is an awesome, ethereal reconfiguration of “The Mother We Share” that almost makes you feel like you’re in space.
9. Beck collaborated with Sia for a new song
Beck worked with Sia for a new song, “Moonquake Lake,” whose sound is a depature from the previous work of both artists. The upbeat, ukulele-driven song will be featured on the soundtrack for the new Annie movie that will be released on December 19.
10. VH1 will televise performances from Jack White, Arcade Fire, Pearl Jam, and Mumford & Sons for A Very Bonnaroo Thanksgiving
On Thanksgiving Day (November 27) at 9 PM EST VH1 will air A Very Bonnaroo Thanksgiving, which will showcase performances from this summer’s Bonnaroo. The program will feature WBRU favorites Jack White, Arcade Fire, Pearl Jam, and Mumford & Sons as well as other well-known artists, like Paul McCartney, Elton John, Metallica, and Elton John.

1. Hozier released a new music video for “From Eden” On Tuesday, Hozier released a music video for his new single, “From Eden.” The video features Hozier playing the father of a nuclear family on a seemingly innocent road trip through the west coast. However, the viewer later sees Hozier holding up a gas station and the family blissfully driving away afterwards, with plenty of new cash in tow. The Smashing Pumpkins released a new song and announced a new tour lineup In anticipation of the release of their new album, Monuments To An Elegy, on December 9, The Smashing Pumpkins released a third single, “Tiberius,” which features some synth work along with the Pumpkins’ signature heavy guitars. If you haven’t heard the Pumpkins’ previous new singles, “Being Beige” and “One and All,” you can listen to them HERE. On Monuments To An Elegy, frontman Billy Corgan recruited Tommy Lee, a founding member of Mötley Crüe, to play drums. I’ve done these sessions where they throw a bunch of writers together and have a reference for what they want to do, and it’s factory-farming bullshit. But anytime I work with Taylor, or Tegan and Sara, or Sara Bareilles, or anyone I’m working with right now I was with Grimes yesterday, who I love it’s just the two of us in a room having a really good time. Or a really emotional time. We’re throwing around ideas and sounds so that the result is 1 + 1 = more than 2.
