Home BRU'd Sessions: Smith & Weeden

Local music veterans Smith & Weeden came in to the Home bru’d studio this past week to play a few tunes for the crew. They’ve got a brand spanking new band since the last time Home bru’d saw them, complete with a bassist and a drummer. Their recent sound is much fuller than the mellow rock and sharp simple blues of their early EP, instead mixing together the sincere songwriting of their folkier pieces with the the fun chugging beats of their rock songs to create something which is at once extremely reminiscent of Americana and the Rolling Stones and relentlessly fresh. Check them out at the Columbus Theatre this coming Friday. It was a great pleasure to have Smith and Weeden in the studio with us. The boys work nights, but came in at 11am just for us.
