Best of Exposure: August 4-8 Temples- Shelter Song Originally called The Moons and currently on a record label called, “Heavenly,” this band has something in the stars going for them. Their astrological alignment has pointed them towards the 60s, where they draw much of their psychedelic sound from. Bear Hands- Agora Agora: A central place in ancient Greek city-states, a meeting place or an assembly. And yet, the music video is lead singer, Dillon Rau, completely isolated in his lonely apartment. Dude needs to step out, maybe check out an agora or two. Cloud Nothings – I’m Not Part of Me Let alone a music career, the Cloud Nothings have a promising future in photography as evidenced by their Instagram. While enjoying the pun of their insta-name, Cloudsomethings, their social media presence will provide you with an intimate look as to what you would find in their hotel room, what they eat when they’re starving, and maybe even the secret to looking cool. We Are Scientists – Dumb Luck If you like We Are Scientists’ music, and even if you don’t, you should check out the 7 episode mini-series they made for MTV UK back in 2009. Watch as the band tries to pawn their way into some cash in the first episode of “Steve Wants His Money” here! Blood Orange – You’re Not Good Enough This music video was produced as part of the Urban Outfitters Music Video Series. Maybe that’s why it’s a little too trendy for me to appreciate… but I can appreciate that is was directed by Gia Coppola! As in part of the famous Coppola family. As in granddaughter to Francis Ford Coppola, niece to Sofia and Roman Coppola, cousin to Nicholas Cage and Jason Schwartzman. (Just imagine a family get-together with Nicholas Cage) Mø – Maiden Mø is Danish for Maiden! As in mø’ maidens, mø’ problems. Mac DeMarco – Salad Days Go show DeMarco’s Facebook page some love, you may get a response… from his mother! She answers all the fan mail, and occasionally keeps track of his fans birthdays to wish them a good one too. There’s a joke about Canadians being nice somewhere in here… Blackbird Blackbird- Grow Old With Me (Don’t Let Go) I’ll be honest, there were a lot more selfies than I expected on Blackbird Blackbird’s website, but there was also a link to his Soundcloud dedicated solely to collaborations with upcoming electronic artists. St. Paul & The Broken Bones – The Broken Bones and Pocket Change Featured in our first Best Of Exposure, St. Paul remains to be one of the best artists to listen to while cruisin’ around in the summer. While the lead singer may look like Drew Carey, he has some emotion in his voice that you can only get from growing up in the soulful south. The War On Drugs- Red Eyes  The group Kurt Vile got his start in, The War On Drugs is an unapologetically indie band from Philadelphia. Wait, they’re from Philly? Philadelphia is in America! Then why are they on the label, “Secretly Canadian.” I guess some secrets aren’t meant to be shared.

Mac DeMarco’s results on Google image might not always be safe for work, but they never fail to disappoint
