Tumor has it that The Red Hot Chili Peppers are early in the recording process for their follow-up to 2011’s “I’m With You!” Chilis drummer Chad Smith said in an interview with Billboard,
It’s only been a couple of months, so we’re just starting to write and get in the groove of things. This is my favorite time, being creative, coming up with ideas. You go there at 11 o’clock with something that wasn’t a piece of music, everyone collaborates on something, three hours later you’ve got something that’s a piece of music that wasn’t there before.
Smith went on to promise some new sounds from the new album. It’s too early to tell when energies the full album will give off, but Smith ensures us that the group is always looking to “change and grow and do new stuff.” Smith promises “it’s gonna sound like us, but it’s gonna be different.” Sounds promising! No release date for what has promise to be the latest and greatest from one of our favorite bands! Can’t wait?
