FORECASTLE FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2014 LINEUP

The Forecastle Festival returns to Louisville, KY this summer with headliners Outkast, Jack White, and Beck! With a great mix of hip hop royalty, new rock, and alt-rock, it seems like the perfect place for WBRU fans and well worth the trip! The 12th Forecastle Festival will take place July 18-20 at Waterfront Park, a beautiful green space along the Ohio River, backed by the downtown Louisville skyline.   The Replacements, Ray Lamontagne, Band of Horses, Spoon, Nickel Creek, Dwight Yoakam, Twenty One Pilots, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Local Natives and Gary Clark Jr., plus more than 40 others round out the lineup. Louisville-based post-rock outfit, Slint, will also reunite for their first hometown show in nearly 10 years. A full list of confirmed acts can be found below. Highlighted in Rolling Stone as “one of the coolest festivals in America” and acclaimed by American Songwriter as “a rock and roll paradise,” the Forecastle Festival has evolved from a small community event into one of the country’s premier festival destinations. The festival is “distinctly Louisville” and is more than just music. Attending the festival will give you a taste of the region’s great culinary and arts scene as well as a glimpse into Kentucky’s unique bourbon heritage! And if that’s not enough, the festival emphasizes sustainability practices and conservation initiatives, alongside the festival’s non-profit organization, the Forecastle Foundation.
