After a two-year silence following the enormous popularity of “Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix”, Phoenix, the alt-rock giant from France, is returning to the scene in 2013.
Its fifth studio album “Bankrupt!” is being released in the U.S. on April 23rd, with a lengthy tour kicking off on March 28th in Vancouver. The band will begin the American leg of its tour right afterwards, starting in Seattle on March 29th. The first cut off the album, “Entertainment”, was recently released, marking the return of the intertwined guitar riffs and huge synths which earned Phoenix a Grammy in 2009. If the new single, along with past hits such as “1901” and “Listzomania”, is anything to go by, you can be sure that you’ll hear more about Phoenix in the coming weeks here at WBRU.
