Rock group Filter just announced their signing with Wind-Up Records, which’ll help in the release of their new album this Spring. The band is working hard to release their sixth studio album Gurney and the Burning Books pretty soon, in May. They’re currently working in Los Angeles at BLUE ROOM studios, with their producer Bob Marlette.
It’s being written and recorded for the most part by Richard Patrick, frontman, who got started in the larger music world touring with Nine Inch Nails during their Pretty Hate Machine touring. Also heavily involved in the writing and recording of this new Filter album is Jonny Radtke, the band’s guitarist. Jeff Friedl, Elias Mallin, and Phil Buckman, all touring members of the band will also have performances on the album.
Keep an eye out for the single of their new album which should hit radio waves in March.
Everyone seems pretty excited about the collaboration, Wind-Up Records President Ed Vetri said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Richard Patrick and Filter into the Wind-Up family. This is a successful band with an extremely impressive body of work and I’m happy to say that based on the demos I’ve heard, this new album could very well be their best to date. Filter is more committed than ever to delivering great repertoire and bringing these songs to life at their live shows throughout 2013”. In response, Filter frontman Richard Patrick said, “We’re excited to enter a new phase of our career with Wind-Up. They’re expecting great things from us and we plan to deliver”.
Here’s to hoping they deliver with this new single we’ll be hearing soon, and later with the full album!
