Four years into the Shins’ absence from the airwaves I said I would voluntarily give my firstborn away for the chance to hear new music from the kings of bittersweet summer pop. And guess what — my vow with the Devil went perfectly, and we have a brand new set of James Mercer’s croonings to play as we sit in the Providence sun. Just want to take this opportunity to say goodbye to my baby girl Marsha — it’s been cool, loved having you around, but we gotta kick you out now.
