Exposure: Wye Oak

Everyone, this band has been stuck in my head for months, and while I can’t get them out of my head, I also don’t want to. Every time I hear their song “Civilian,” from their album of the same name, I feel so serene, peaceful, happy, and… inspired. (Note, this may not be your reaction, but you should still check them out). The indie folk rock duo hails from Baltimore, Maryland. Their third studio album Civilian was released just about a year ago, yet besides being played during the second season of The Walking Dead, and a tour line-up that included Lollapalooza 2011 in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois, the duo have been underplayed, and I think personally underrated. Their songs are full of such emotion and depth that you definitely need to give them a listen or two.
